Basic Types of Hormones in Pancreatic Cells

ثبت نشده
چکیده

Endocrine islet cells produce large amounts of hormones (Fig. 1), the majority of them being physiologicaly afunctional. Many of them are produced in endocrine cells of other organs, participate in hormonal as well as in paracrine regulations and may regulate secretion of intrinsic pancreatic hormones. This group includes gastrointestinal hormones, such as glucose-dependent insulinotrophic peptide (GIP) or glucagon-like insulinotrophic peptide-1 (GLP-1), participating in the “incretine effect” of insulin secretion. The four hormones produced in the basic four types of pancreatic cells are of predominant physiological significance.

The Effect of Eight Weeks of Aerobic Exercise on the Expression of Senescence Proteins P53 and P16 in Pancreatic Tissue of Diabetic Mice

Background: Chronic hyperglycemia is associated with an increase in cellular damage due to oxidative stress and increases insulin resistance and also increases in p53 and p16 beta cells, leading to the induction of senescence in pancreatic insulin-secreting cells. The aim of this study was the effect of eight weeks of aerobic exercise on the expression of senescence proteins P53 and P16 in the ...

Apoptosis induction and proliferation inhibition by silibinin encapsulated in nanoparticles in MIA PaCa-2 cancer cells and deregulation of some miRNAs

Objective(s): Silibinin, as an herbal compound, has anti-cancer activity. Because of low solubility of silibinin in water and body fluids, it was encapsulated in polymersome nanoparticles and its effects were evaluated on pancreatic cancer cells and cancer stem cells.Materials and Methods: MIA PaCa-2 pancreatic cancer cells were treated ...

Achillea Millefolium L. Hydro- Alcoholic Extract Protects Pancreatic Cells by Down Regulating IL- 1β and iNOS Gene Expression in Diabetic Rats

Interleukin-1β (IL-1β) has a role in β- cell destruction in autoimmune diabetes by stimulating the expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) that generates the free radical nitric oxide. We aimed to investigate the effect of Achillea millefolium L, as a traditional hypoglycemic agent, on IL-1β and iNOS gene expression of pancreatic tissue in the STZ- induced diabetic rats. Forty adul...

Stereological estimation and morphological assessment of the endocrine pancreatic components in relation to sex in hen

In pancreatic survey, quantitative and morphological characteristics could be fundamental variables for the evaluation of some structures. The aim of this study was the application of stereological methods for estimation of quantitative parameters and morphological evaluation of the pancreas in chickens. Ten adult male and ten adult female native chickens were used in this study. Routine tissue...

تمایز مونوسیت‌های خون محیطی رت به سلول‌های سازنده انسولین تحت تاثیر عصاره پانکراسی رت در شرایط آزمایشگاهی

Background: Cell-therapy provides a promising alternative for the treatment of type 1 diabetes. Monocytes which have a reprogramming or differentiation potential and are more available than any other types of stem cells, have been recognized as candidates for such investigations. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the differentiation potential of rat peripheral blood monocytes into in...
